POSITION SUMMARY: The Lifeguard is a critical part of aquatic safety at the Branson RecPlex.  The primary functions of this position are to ensure the safety of pool patrons and provide hospitality and service to guests. This is a part-time seasonal position and the hours fluctuate depending on weather and programs. This position reports directly to the Pool Manager.

WORK LOCATION:   Rec Plex, Branson, Missouri; This position requires work to be performed onsite. 

COMPENSATION:    The starting hourly wage is $13.50 per hour.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Behaves in a manner that promotes a productive, healthy, safe, and positive work environment by:
  2. Follows the legal and ethical direction of supervisor(s).
  3. Enforces safety procedures and pool policies.
  4. Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of patrons in the event of an emergency.
  5. Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service.
  6. Ensures cleanliness of pool area.
  7. Completes end of shift duties.
  8. Other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND TRAINING

  • Six (6) months of pool and/or customer service experience is preferred.
  • Current CPR/AED certification is preferred.

MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 15 years of age. 
  • Must be willing to work evenings, nights, and weekends from May through September.
  • Must enjoy working with kids and be capable of working indoors and outdoors.
  • Must work well with others; be responsible, dependable, energetic, and friendly.
  • Must be able to successfully pass required lifeguard and CPR certification class.
  • Must be highly engaged in the departments goals and be able to work cooperatively with the Parks and Recreation leadership in achieving those goals.
  • Must possess a high degree of integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service to those of internal or external to the department.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug and alcohol screenings.
