POSITION SUMMARY: The Social Media/Digital Specialist works within the Communications Department of City Administration. This position is a key part of the Communications Team in promoting and protecting the online "personality" of the City of Branson, its people, its leaders, and its community. The role oversees the online social/digital communications and marketing efforts including developing graphics, materials, and an image library designed to inform the public of newsworthy items, assist with media relations, and promote a positive public image of the City, City leadership, and all departments to include Fire, Police, and Parks & Recreation. This position reports directly to the Communications Director and indirectly to the Chief of Staff.

WORK HOURS:              Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; Occasional After Hours Needed

WORK LOCATION:        In and around the City of Branson, Missouri; This position requires work to be performed onsite. 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:  The starting hourly wage is $21.70 per hour and will increase to $22.57 per hour after 6 months of successful probation.  Please click on this link for compensation/benefits information.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING
• Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, graphics arts, communications, journalism, or another communications-related field is required. 
• One (1) year of prior professional experience in marketing, sales, digital, media relations, or public relations is required.  
• Ability to effectively use HTML, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Photoshop is required.
• Expertise in advanced graphic design is required.
 
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING
• Prior experience in a professional office environment is preferred.
 
MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be highly engaged in the department's goals, and be able to work cooperatively with City leadership in achieving those goals.
• Must possess strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal communication and relational skills, good organizational and project management skills, sound judgment, initiative, flexibility, and be detail oriented.  
• Must demonstrate excellent customer service to the department's internal or external customers. 
• Must possess a valid, current driver's license and must be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position. 
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that may vary throughout the week including after-hours, evenings and weekends.   
• Must act safely and follow safety standards while at work.
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug and alcohol screenings.
